So I went to go shopping today to pick up something for my mum for Mothers Day and I was like OMG I have no idea what to get her. I’ve been thinking about different ideas all morning so here’s a few suggestions for anyone who is also stuck for ideas:
1. Customised robe
They’re very reasonably priced too with personalised robes starting at around €30 and €5.95 for delivery in Ireland. Delivery can usually take up to 7 days but if you call Emma on 0872715026 she will make sure it is sent out to you as soon as possible. I’ve just ordered today and will have the robe on Thursday! 🙌
2. Jo Malone products
You can never go wrong with scented products or candles from a brand your mum loves. I’ve yet to meet a mum who doesn’t love Jo Malone.
This Vitamin E body scrub looks absolutely divine and comes in a huge tub that will last for ages. Just the smell of it alone will put a smile on your Mum’s face ☺️ delicious 👌 You can pick this up in Brown Thomas for about €90.
If this is above your budget there are also beautiful fragrances and candles available in a range of different scents starting at around €50. Check out the range and prices here.
3. Flowers 🌼🌸🌺
This might seem like a really obvious option but to me it’s all about finding the right florist. There’s a huge difference between a bunch of flowers from Tesco & a gorgeous bouquet handmade by a fabulous flower shop.
Here are some of my favourite florists to get a meaningful bouquet made up 💕 It’s going to be more expensive but if your mum knows her flowers she’ll really appreciate it.
Flowers.ie have a stunning range of Mother’s Day flowers & chocolate sets.
All of these are available for under €70. Shop here.
Interflora is also a brilliant site for choosing flower & chocolate sets, and offers same day delivery. They have loads of this style of bouquet with a box style base, which I think looks gorgeous.
This particular style comes with chocolates and is only €56. Check out the website for loads of different options here.
There’s a few cheaper options without chocolates on both sites too.
4. Voucher for a beauty treatment
In the past I’ve gotten my mum vouchers to get her nails done, get a facial or a voucher for a spa.
You probably know what places she likes but here’s a few places I’ve got my mum vouchers for before that she loved.
Voucher for shellac manicure 💅
Where? Temple Hair & Beauty, Templeogue, Dublin
My mum loves it here and I’ve actually started getting my nails done here too. Lauren is so chatty and has shellac done in about 15 minutes, which is pretty handy for busy mums. She charges €20 even if you have old shellac on which is so reasonable. This is a pretty cheap option if you have a tighter budget ☺️
Voucher for a facial 💆
Where? Harvey Nichols, Dundrum
Any type of pampering present is always a winner. You could even book for you and your mum to get a facial together. I got an Elemis facial as a gift for her before and I think this was about €50. I’m pretty sure they also provide the Dermalogica and Environ brands. I’ve heard amazing things about Environ so I’m actually looking into this for myself at the moment. Here’s the phone number for Harvey Nichols to get more info: 01 2910488.
Another place I’ve heard fantastic things about is Clear Skin Clinic at Beacon South Quarter in Sandyford. They do a 5 in 1 facial for €150 which apparently works absolute wonders. Check out the website here or their Insta here.
5. Photo collage
I’m such a fan of the good aul arts and crafts when it comes to presents. If you’re looking for a cheaper idea that’s super thoughtful this is a great one. It’s so easy to print out photos nowadays – you can do it from your phone, USB key or social media in a matter of a few minutes at photo kiosks in Boots, pharmacies or camera shops. It’s pretty cheap.
I think this idea is perfect for a new mum too. Time goes so fast when you have a new baby and what better way to surprise a new mama than with memories of her baby from the last few weeks or months 💖
If you’re still at a loss for ideas I would say think makeup, perfume or workout clothes if she’s into the gym. I got my mum a voucher for Elverys at Christmas and she loved that because she could get a few sets of workout tops & leggings.
Tickets to a concert or show are a great present too. Find out what’s on over the next few months here.
Hope this helps!
Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely mummies out there 🙌
