Gav and I just had the most amazing weekend in London! We flew out at 4pm on Friday which meant we arrived at our hotel just in time for dinner and drinks. We flew with Ryanair.
We were staying in Clapham and went to a delicious restaurant called Bodean’s in Clapham Common on Friday night. I loved this place – it was done out in booths with kitchen roll and different BBQ and spicy sauces on the tables. Check out the menu here. I’d highly recommend this place – I can’t wait to go back!
We got some yum cocktails (an Old Fashioned and a Mai Tai) and hot buffalo chicken wings to start.
I had a pulled pork burrito with chili con queso, guacamole, mexican rice, sour cream and salsa (my mouth is watering as I type this) and Gav had a mixed plate of 1/4 chicken, BBQ ribs and pulled pork. It was insanely good!
After we went for a few drinks at a cool bar called SO UK. It was a great spot for a dance and a few cocktails.
On Saturday we went to The Breakfast Club in Battersea for a full English brekkie. We’d heard so much about The Breakfast Club. It was really nice but I don’t think it lived up to my expectations. I’d heard so much hype and expected more!
We went to the pub then to watch Scotland beat Ireland unfortunately. Such a disappointing game for the first Six Nations 😦
Nothing could dampen our spirits though as we got ready to head to The O2 for Drake, which was a present from Gav 🙂
We got food at this brilliant Mexican place called Chiquito. There must have been more than 50 cocktails on the menu and the food was absolutely divine! There were Mexican hats hanging around the restaurant. We loved this place and I’ve been recommending it to everyone!
We got nachos to start then chicken and chorizo tacos and pulled pork tacos. Mmmmm….
Check out the menu here
The concert was absolutely amazing!! The O2 was bopping as he played Controlla, One Dance, some Rihanna stompers and tunes off his new album, ‘Views’. We were standing which was brill. I’m going to do a blog post on this soon – I have some great videos.
We flew home late after a great day shopping on Sunday evening. We feel like we were away for much longer than 2 days because we took the Friday off work.
London is such a great place for a weekend away. I can’t wait to go back! It was so easy to get around with the tube and the train from Clapham to Gatwick Airport.
We used a brilliant app called Citymapper, which gives you information on different travel routes, estimated travel times and costs.
The countdown is on for our next trip on Monday!! Reyjkavik, Iceland here we come!!
Our aim is to always have a trip to look forward to.
Have a great week x
